I feel good about all of the support that I’ve received from my family, friends and fellow students as I embark on the next few months. I will definitely keep researching potential employers when I am away, and be on the look out for any job opportunities that may be available when I return.

However, I do not feel like this is my destiny. I need a breather. I need a break. Although my bank account is probably going to hate me for it, I want to invest in traveling in the months following graduation.

I know that many people may think that this is a crazy decision and that I am wasting precious career building time, but I disagree. I feel that traveling for a few months will re-charge my battery (which is LOW at this point). Allow me to see this large world that I have only studied in the past 18 years that I have been enrolled in numerous institutions. Finally, it will allow me to fully focus on my career when I am READY to settle into that phase of my life.

For the first time in a long time I look forward to the next few month of my life. I don’t have a set plan or a schedule to guide me. Instead, I am entering an unknown realm that begins the day after I throw up my graduation cap, which is a feeling that I haven’t felt in a long time.
